Citizens’ Climate Lobby Virginia is organizing our first ever art competition and we want your art! Regardless of experience, all artists are encouraged to submit their best work.
Juried work will be shown on the Virginia Citizens’ Climate Lobby website and sponsored social media. Best in Show, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be interviewed and featured prominently in our blog and other social media. Artists will be responsible for their own sales.
Climate justice is a term to acknowledge that climate change can have different social, economic, health, and other adverse impacts on underprivileged and marginalized populations. Climate change is happening to everyone, but, because of inequitable social and environmental conditions, those who contribute the least to the problems are often those who are affected the most. In Virginia, those living in marginalized communities are more likely to experience the negative effects of air pollution, flooding in their communities, and storm damage.
Citizen’s Climate Lobby empowers everyday people to work towards climate change solutions for a more livable world. Our supporters are located in more than 600 local chapters across the United States. Together we’re building support in Congress for a national bi-partisan solution to climate change.
